some more bits and pieces

A few more of the things I brought back from Japan – they all blend beautifully with the pods and pieces of silver I have lying around. The coasters are linen with natural dye prints. I love the forms and the colours. The furoshiki (wrapping cloths) feature such beautifully simple patterns and colours. The paper birds are are a mobile (yet to be hung) – so beautifully wrapped. I couldn’t resist getting one in the white and brown (and also red which I gave to a friend’s new baby).

The saucer above is by NZ ceramicist Rose Griffin. I love the organic form, the plant form pressed or drawn into the surface and scratchy line. Another beautiful fragment for my collection..
