Over the past year or so I’ve been thinking that some of the forms I use in my jewellery would work well in 2D. I’ve always loved prints but hadn’t done any printing since my school days. So after finally finding a short course that included printing on paper (not just fabric) – I spent the last two Sundays making various kinds of screen prints.
I did a few t-shirts for the kids but also some prints on paper which I was quite pleased with. It definitely confirmed for me that this is something I want to investigate further as a complement to my jewellery practice. An added bonus is that it gives me the opportunity to play with colour – which I love – despite the fact that most of my jewellery designs have a very neutral palette.
